Topic: Ads while listening to internet radio stations

There is a change of internet addressing with audio streaming for load balancing on WCBS Newsradio 880.
I could not find any selection for a regional allocation.
The streaming access is defined only as 'New York' with WCBS Newsradio 880.

This investigation is not easy for me.
Standard announcement of WCDS is for me here in Germany:
This site isn't currently available in the EU
Therefore my additional information is with this station: U.S. area only

Usually the ads provider uses your IP address to determine your location to provided location based ads.
If they do not have ads for your location or can not detect or detect incorrectly your location they can fall back to the station location.

Hello:

I have a question to those of us listening to our radio devices:

While listening to radio stations outside of my local area here in New England (northeast US) with my internet radio, when the station had an advertisement or commercial break, instead of ads that for example talk about a service for a local business from the area of the station,on my internet radio I hear ads instead for a business in my  home area. Meaning, for example, if I listen to a station like WCBS 880 New York,NY, on my non-internet radio,I would hear local ads for New York businesses.  However, tune to WCBS 880 on my internet radio from my home in southern New England, I would instead hear ads for local businesses in my area instead of those from New York. Does anyone else notice this pecularity?Does this occur too in other countries like those in Europe where local ads are substituted for ads from the station's originating area?  I am interested in this. Thanks.
